This paper reflects on artificial poetry (AI), drawing on Witold Marzęda's (2024) article on the subject. The author begins by attempting to distinguish between humans and machines and the purpose of writing poetry. He then analyzes two poems generated by language models to demonstrate the problem of originality in their work. He also considers the merits of developing artificial poetry to demonstrate the capabilities of machines. The author concludes with an invitation to reflect on the true purpose of using AI in creativity and a reminder of the value of emotion and authenticity in art.
