The purpose of the article is primarily to demonstrate that the concept of “DJ” used in Bourriaud's writings should be considered as a historical category. This allows us to define its scope of meaning as broadly as possible and, consequently, to set the context that proves to be as important for the concept of post-productionist art itself as the thought of Michel de Certeau. Because the products of the visual arts can be described in terms of categories derived from the auditory domain.
